Ms. Sandra GEHENOT, Director of the UIC Freight Department, presented the DP-RAIL initiative at the UNECE meeting on 4th April. Under the digital and green transformations for sustainable development, Ms. GEHENOT emphasized the urgent need for a significant modal shift towards more sustainable transport in Europe. Ms. GEHENOT presented the prerequisites for realizing the substantial modal shift, with the Digital Platform being one of the key game changers. She outlined the big picture of rail freight in full digital transformation and how DP-RAIL, with its use cases, can reach the goal of seamless, interoperable data exchange across borders and companies.
